Where we started.

The Springs Book Bash started small. Four friends who wanted to do a signing together, but couldn’t find a bookstore big enough for four tables.

C.H. Lyn, the can’t-stop-don’t-stop of the crew, realized the Y would be the perfect place… but it was almost too big. The solution? Get more authors to join, of course!

The Llama Ladies (the name bestowed upon Tracey Barski, L.J. Burkhart, Mandy Maree, and C.H. Lyn because of an inside joke) found twenty more amazing authors in the Colorado Springs area.

It was quite an event. Such an event, in fact, that another was requested by the community. Spring of 2024 found over 50 authors back at the Y. With nearly a thousand readers in attendance, the Bash became solidified as an event that simply had to continue.

Enter Michelle N. Hagood - indie author and event coordinator extraordinaire. She and Lyn made the choice to add a solid 50 pounds of responsibility to their already hectic lives and turned the Springs Book Bash into a legit business (with paperwork and everything).

With the help of the other Llama Ladies, Carly Stevens, Erik Fox, and Haley DeFore, the 2025 Springs Book Bash was an absolute success. In a larger venue, with more author, more vendors, more readers, and more amazing books.

Now, the bookish community in Colorado Springs and the surrounding area has a yearly book event that only continues to grow. The love and positivity found in the reading world can found at this wonderful event. The Bash is proof that writing, and reading, doesn’t have to be done alone.
